    Fire Protection Consultant

    Details:
    We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual with expertise in fire protection engineering/fire and life safety consulting to assist in growing our present practice. The team member will be responsible for managing engineering projects, completing assigned tasks and providing solutions to fire protection-related challenges. Tasks may include:

    • Perform analysis of drawings and codes to determine compliance of building, fire alarm and fire protection system designs and provide suggested solutions.
    • Manage project schedules, budgets and client deliverables.
    • Perform building surveys to evaluate the condition and code compliance of fire alarm systems, fire protection systems, egress, fire-resistance-rated enclosures, etc.
    • Coordinate and witness testing of fire alarm and fire protection systems.
    • Prepare construction documents and specifications for fire alarm and fire protection designs.
    • Prepare technical reports/analyses using excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Participate and represent the company professionally with Building and Fire Department representatives.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of three (3) years experience in fire protection engineering/consulting.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills.
    • Proficient with AutoCAD and AutoSRINK RVT. Experience with BIM/REVIT is preferred.
    • Professional Engineering license is not required.
    • Proficient with Microsoft product suite (Office, Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
    • Experience in reviewing, interpreting and implementing requirements of building codes and standards.

    Location:
    This is a hybrid position which is based on working from home with travel to sites and client meetings required upon the needs of the project. Project locations may include existing buildings or buildings under construction. Some travel may be required outside of the tri-state area.
