    FDNY Remote Video Inspections

    By Steven Venditti | Fire Alarm | 0 comment | 2 December, 2020 | 14

Effective December 1, 2020 the FDNY has implemented a program to perform fire alarm inspections remotely called “Remote Video Inspections (RVI)”. The overall intent of the program is to maximize efficiency while minimizing COVID exposures. The process is only available for an inspection of Letter of Defects, at the discretion of FDNY. It is not available for applications with an active Violation Order. The RVI process is technologically demanding, requiring multiple devices to observe different locations, camera stabilization, lighting and internet connectivity to send audio and live video during the inspection. Upon scheduling the inspection, the FDNY will dictate the quantity of devices required for monitoring. A single point of contact is required for the RVI, to coordinate the attendees, begin the discussion with the inspector and manage the meeting process. A reliable means of connectivity is required along with training and knowledge of the software.

If you have projects where you’d like to perform an RVI, we are set-up to handle the entire process so you’re not dealing with technology and coordination issues between those involved. We’re happy to discuss how RVI can be used with your project to make your fire alarm inspection more efficient. Contact Sparc to see how!
