Sparc performed a battery energy storage system peer review in order to obtain product approval from FDNY. During the FDNY Form TM-2 (Certificate of Approval) submission process, in order to obtain the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) Certificate of Approval for the battery energy storage system, the FDNY requested a fire protection engineering peer review be performed. The peer review included the following subject areas: fire extinguishing systems, explosion mitigation systems, fire detection systems and alarm notifications, and smoke gas/purge system. Sparc completed the review which resulted in a successful issuance of the FDNY Certificate of Approval for the battery energy storage system. The applicable codes included the New York City Fire Code and FDNY Rule 608-01, Stationary Battery Energy Storage Systems.
